Steve West began his career in the shopping center industry in 1989 at Halpern Enterprises as an Assistant Property Manager. Over the years, he has served as Property Manager, Regional Director, Director of Acquisitions and Development and currently as Vice President of Development. He has been responsible for the acquisition / development and/or redevelopment of many Halpern properties, including: Hightower Station, Griffin Crossroads, Crescent Village, Mill Creek Crossing, Cypress Mill Square, Old Orchard Square, Cheshire Square, Westridge, Holmes Plaza, Lockheed Village, Holmes Crossing, Heritage Walk, as well as several single tenant properties.

Steve earned his Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers in 1994. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, GA, having served in a variety of capacities including Chairman of Deacons, and on Personnel, Finance and Search committees. He actively teaches 12th grade Sunday school, and Financial Peace discipleship for adults.

He attended Jonesboro high school and received his BBA from Mercer University in Macon, GA in 1987. Other interests include sailing, golf, softball and spending time with his family. He married his college sweetheart, the former Mitzi DeWine, and they are the proud parents of three children: Jackson, Emily and Natalie.
